Alain Huet, a farmer in Réunion's Sud Sauvage region, transforms organic sugar cane into artisanal products such as galabé, muscovado and syrup de la cuite.
Committed to an organic and traditional approach, he offers authentic delights grown with care and passion.
I was a wealth management advisor in mainland France. I wanted to return to my homeland to develop this business in the agri-food sector: processing palm kernels.
Then I became interested in another emblematic plant, sugar cane. And now, bingo, I'm enjoying myself, having fun every day innovating, introducing products that don't exist.
I believe in cane juice for its nutritional value, its taste, and above all its extraordinary potential uses. Returning to an ancestral method for galabé, introducing muscovado, going from financial advisor to farmer: it's not easy, but when you love nature and get involved, it's great. The essential condition for me to get started was to go organic.
I hope that on Reunion Island, we'll be able to get to grips with the Esprit Parc Nationalbrand very quickly , so that other people can recognize themselves in the brand's values.
