Pinot noir - Le Muid Montsaugeonnais

The Muid Montsaugeonnais is a vineyard of nearly 14ha, in conversion to organic farming, which produces white, red, rosé and sparkling wines as well as ratafia, grape juice and wine vinegar.

Our terroirs, located in Vaux-sous-Aubigny, Montsaugeon, Rivières-les-fosses and Chatoillenot, are particularly well-suited to vine-growing, owing their quality to both soil composition and exposure. Our 4 grape varieties - Pinot noir, Gamay, Chardonnay and Auxerrois - flourish here and offer us their flavors.

Since the creation of Muid Montsaugeonnais, Dominique and Isabelle, our winemakers, and their teams, have given the vineyard a real identity. Their expertise has been recognized and rewarded on several occasions (Salon de l'Agriculture, Guide Hachette des vins, etc.).

Since 2020, we have been pursuing our quest for quality with the conversion to organic farming and parcel-based vinification, which will enable our wines to better reveal the quality of our terroirs.

Production, harvesting, vinification, bottling (carried out by a service provider) and storage (cellar and vats) are carried out on the farm.

Pinot noir:

  • Terroir: clay-limestone soil
  • Exposure: southeast
  • Average age of vines: 18 years
  • Tasting: Pinot Noir offers two different flavors. One, transmitted by a wine aged in stainless steel vats, and the other by oak barrels. The former, made in the traditional way, is served at a temperature of 18°C and can be enjoyed young, after 12 months' ageing. On the palate, the wine reveals notes of red fruit. Its tannic structure and freshness are the perfect accompaniment to meat dishes. However, it can also wait a few years in the cellar, to improve... For wines aged in oak barrels (228 liters), with their ripe structure and assertive tannins, a few years in the cellar is preferable.
