The Muid Montsaugeonnais is a vineyard of nearly 14ha, in conversion to organic farming, which produces white, red, rosé and sparkling wines as well as ratafia, grape juice and wine vinegar.
Our terroirs, located in Vaux-sous-Aubigny, Montsaugeon, Rivières-les-fosses and Chatoillenot, are particularly well-suited to vine-growing, owing their quality to both soil composition and exposure. Our 4 grape varieties - Pinot noir, Gamay, Chardonnay and Auxerrois - flourish here and offer us their flavors.
Since the creation of Muid Montsaugeonnais, Dominique and Isabelle, our winemakers, and their teams, have given the vineyard a real identity. Their expertise has been recognized and rewarded on several occasions (Salon de l'Agriculture, Guide Hachette des vins, etc.).
Since 2020, we have been pursuing our quest for quality with the conversion to organic farming and parcel-based vinification, which will enable our wines to better reveal the quality of our terroirs.
Production, harvesting, vinification, bottling (carried out by a service provider) and storage (cellar and vats) are all carried out on the estate.
Auxerrois :
- Terroir: clay-limestone soil on hillside and mid-slope
- Exposure: southeast
- Average age of vines: 18 years
- Tasting: This wine should be drunk young. It is best enjoyed as an aperitif or at the beginning of a meal. Its slight acidity means that malolactic fermentation (fermentation that breaks down some of the wine's acidity before bottling) should be avoided.
